COMPILING YOUR ENTRY:

For each category, there are no binder specifications for sending your entry.

1.   Category Entered
2.   Name and title of spokesperson
3.   Name of organization submitting entry
4.   Contact for entry – name, title, affiliation, address, phone, and email
5.   In 200 words or less, why your nominee should win.
6.   In 2000 words or less, please describe the following criteria:

  • The situation(s) facing the organization that would qualify the person for the category and award
  • The key messages the organization/spokesperson was attempting to deliver
  • For print/Web category, a summary of key quotes that were picked up by the media.
  • For the television/radio category, a summary of key quotes that were picked up and a description of how the spokesperson effectively used audio/visual to help deliver the message(s) - such as tone, gestures, body language, visual aids, etc.
  • For the crisis submission, a description of how the spokesperson was able to quell concerns and answer tough questions.
  • A description of the spokesperson’s overall results and how the benefit the organization he or she represents.
  • The total number of years of experience the individual has serving as a spokesperson (for any organization)

7.   The following supporting materials:

Print and/or Web

  • Three articles in which the spokesperson has been quoted.  Each of the three examples must be different, complete and non-edited (i.e. full article or full website print-out).

TV and/or Radio

  • Three broadcast video or radio recordings in which the spokesperson has been quoted.  Each of the three examples must be different, complete and non-edited (i.e. full news segment, including introduction, commentary, other panelist comments, etc.). Please send VHS, maximum of 7 minutes per video or radio.

8.   Any of the following optional materials:

  • Third party analysis of the situation or spokesperson
  • A current resume of the spokesperson not to exceed 2 pages.

 

WHAT THE WINNERS RECEIVE:

  • Recognition at the Awards Ceremony
  • A Crystal Award
  • Mention in press release
  • Profiles of Winners will be featured in the PR News January 2006 issue
  • Winners will be listed on PR News’ Web site and eletter
  • Winners will be recognized on CommCore’s Web site and eletter
  • Honorable Mentions will be also be recognized and honored
